Celebrate National Library week by entering the amazing world of healing dogs – dogs trained to help people with emotional disorders live fuller and happier lives. Jane Miller, Oberlin psychotherapist, has been working with these wonderful animals for the last 15 years, ever since she first took her own dog, Umaya, to her office and saw how much the dog comforted and helped her patients. Ms. Miller’s book, Healing Companions, profiles these extraordinary dogs and how they transform lives. As a special bonus, Tracy, one of the contributors to the book, will be there with her psychiatric service dog. Attendees will also be able to purchase a copy of the book and have it signed by the author at the program. Preregistration is required by calling the Main Library at 440-244-1192 or 1-800-322-READ, ext. 247.
